A year-end without the annual panic
When the records have been kept properly all year, year-end is a process, not an event. We close the year, make the adjustments and prepare the accounts work, so the deadline arrives quietly.
What the service covers
- Year-end close: cut-off, accruals, prepayments and adjustments
- Reconciliation of every balance sheet account before the year is signed off
- Draft year-end accounts prepared from clean, verified records
- Opening balance adjustments carried forward correctly into the new year
- Prior-year comparison reporting, so you can see the direction of travel
- Direct liaison with your accountant or auditor where their sign-off is required
For businesses that need audit or specialist tax advice, we work alongside the firms that provide it. Because they receive reconciled, well-organised records rather than raw data, their work goes faster and their fees reflect that.
Why start before year-end
The most expensive accounts are the ones assembled in a hurry from incomplete records. If we look after your books during the year, the year-end position is already known months in advance: no surprise tax bills, no missing paperwork, no January archaeology.
If your records are not with us yet, the best time to talk is two or three months before your year-end. That leaves room to tidy what needs tidying while it is still cheap to do.
Accounts questions
Do you prepare accounts for limited companies and sole traders?
We prepare year-end records and draft accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The exact scope, including who files what and where specialist review is sensible, is agreed with you at the start so there are no gaps and no duplication.
Can you work with our existing accountant?
Yes, and we do this constantly. We find out how your accountant likes records presented and prepare the year-end file their way. Many of our longest client relationships run exactly on this model.
